Complete an internship at Hellings
Jurre's internship period
After an educational and valuable period at Hellings, Jurre’s internship is coming to an end. During his internship, Jurre was working on a brand-new transport trolley for lifting equipment in the assembly hall.
The aim of Jurre’s internship was to gain hands-on experience and learn about the different aspects of Hellings. There are various internship and graduation opportunities at Hellings, such as collaborating, researching or designing. Jurre chose an internship assignment where he designed and made everything himself.

Designing and assembling a transport trolley for lifting equipment
What did you do during your internship?
I was involved in designing and assembling a transport trolley for lifting equipment in the assembly hall. I started with research into the applications of lifting equipment, and the wishes and requirements of colleagues and end users. This was important because the lifting equipment must be good and easy for everyone to use.
What was the outcome?
In the end, I designed, developed and made the transport trolley, including assembly work, as well as welding and sawing. Welding was new to me; I had never done this before. After receiving guidance from my colleagues, I was able to produce neat welds.
Looking back, how would you describe your internship? What did you enjoy and what was the biggest challenge?
Incredibly good! I saw and learned a great deal during my internship at Hellings: welding, putting ideas and designs down on paper, communicating with end users, and, of course, gaining valuable insight into the business world. What I enjoyed most was welding, assisting with assembly work, and working alongside such great colleagues.
My biggest challenge: finding a place at Hellings. Fortunately, I settled in quickly and received a warm welcome and excellent guidance within the company.
