Neobots is a foundation from the Meierijstad region that gets young people excited about technology. In the First Lego League (FLL) and the First Tech Challenge (FTC), they design, build and program their own robots and take part in national and international competitions. By sponsoring their home, we have contributed to a place where this talent can develop.
We are pleased that, as a sponsor of Neobots, we have created this for young, technical talent from the region. But… How did this collaboration between Hellings and Neobots come about?
Supervisor Roel van der Zanden: “We had a nice workshop, but unfortunately, due to circumstances, we could no longer use it. Paul was immediately enthusiastic and gave us a great workplace here at Hellings.”
Paul Hellings: “We cleared out a mezzanine floor and refurbished an office space. With that, we created 180 m² of space for working, playing and thinking.”
According to colleague Daan ter Voert, who has been part of an FRC team himself, this is a logical collaboration: “Within the FRC, FLL and FTC, I constantly see new challenges. At Hellings, we never do the same thing twice, either: each time we get new machines, new systems and therefore new challenges.”
