Jan Vervoort Company Tournament

On Sunday 22 June, Sportpark Den Eimert was the venue for the 19th Jan Vervoort Company Tournament. And Hellings was there, of course! With no fewer than 21 enthusiastic players and 3 committed coaches, we were one of the largest delegations on the pitch. In our brand-new kit, we immediately made an impression both on and off the pitch.

The tournament, organised by VVNijnsel, had a modified programme due to the tropical temperatures. Short matches, extra drinking breaks, plenty of water and an alcohol-free morning ensured a sporty and safe day. What made it even more enjoyable was that the consolation bracket was also well organised, allowing all teams to play plenty of football. Exactly as intended: sporting, enjoyable, and a great day for everyone.

The final was ultimately between Marmonte and De Gentiaan, with Marmonte coming out on top with a narrow 2-1 victory. But the real win, of course, was in the atmosphere, the teamwork and the team spirit, and Hellings definitely scored highly in that respect.

A big thank you to the organisers, VV Nijnsel, the referees, the catering team and, of course, all the supporters. We are already looking forward to the anniversary edition next year. Then we’ll be there again! With even sharper passes and hopefully just a little less muscle pain the next day.
